Val Gogoleski has been working in colored pencil for over 30 years.  Thanks to product quality improvements in the last 20 years, colored pencil artwork is gaining serious acceptance among collectors.

In 2004, Val Gogoleski was honored with signature status by The Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA).  Competition for signature status is fierce, and the designation is reserved for those artists whose work has been juried into at least three international CPSA shows.

Gogoleski, who received her Masters in Art Education from Michigan State University, has been juried into numerous shows around the United States.

One of Gogoleski’s most recent series—and one of her most popular—was Romance at Red’s.   The inspiration for this series was a trip to Red’s Trading Post in The Dalles, Oregon, with artists (and friends) Judith Cunningham and Ellen Dittebrandt.  Gogoleski prepared a series of a dozen colored pencil close-up images of sorted metal, glass, and porcelain used objects.  (See the image “Emerald City” as an example.)

Gallery 7126 has represented Gogoleski since 2003, and has hosted her work in two solo shows and three group shows.  She is gaining a local following and has completed numerous commissions for local collectors.  Late summer or early fall of 2008 will mark her third solo show at Gallery 7126.
